A lot of times we come across kids that think, more than they feel. Feel is the key component to our teaching at Tomahawk. Without feel there cannot be change.
Kids that are analytically based in their thinking have a hard time feeling due to the manor of which they process information. They think too much.
So we try to help by taking their brain out of it. To accomplish this have them close their eyes when they go through a movement pattern. The objective is not the result but the process. Closing your eyes takes the information overload provided to the eyes away and they now can focus more on their bodies travel through space.
If you wish to help even further hit the area you wish to draw attention to. A few light slaps is fine. This activates the nerves in the body and forces your brain to address it over everything else.
Know the Why.
