We have seen many things over the year but one of my biggest pet peeve is to yell at kids and not tell them how to fix it. I have been seen to get so mad and yell at other coaches for doing this.
All anyone (kid or adult) wants to do is hit a homeruns and throw 100 mphs and strikes. That's what they are trying to do. So yelling swing harder or throw harder or what ever the instruction is they are trying already to do it.
THEY DON'T KNOW HOW!!! Isn't that what you are for?
The big question is, do you? Not usually. So if you do not know how to do it. And watching a Youtube video of someone else "not knowing" how to do it does not count. So be honest with yourself and lose the ego. It's about the kid not you.
Also, all wise coach that you are, with your chest all puffed out because you did to much bench press to impress the parents, you also never showed them how to do it, so why do you expect them to magically be able to do it.
Make the kids better each day you see them if you can't then shut up and sit in the stands.
