Just because your an ex professional baseball player does not mean you know how to hit.

Here Ted Williams trying to explain to Wade Boggs and Don Mattingly that how you actual hit vs how everyone tells you your supposed to hit are not the same thing.

Both did not listen.

Just because your a ex professional athlete or an Hall of Famer for that matter does not mean you know the difference between how to hit and how you actually hit.

No one loads the back leg by putting all their weight on it.

No one has a back then forward movement with their body.

No one gets their foot down early.

No on keeps their back foot on the ground.

NO ONE SWINGS DOWN ON THE BALL.

Well only the ones who can't hit or teach hitting.

Stress is a key component of sports. Understanding what happens in your body when stress enters the player’s is essential to controlling it and success.

Imagine a Grizzly Bear knocking on your front door. Your mind and body will instantly enter a Fight or Flight mode and will automatically begin to prepare itself.

Heart Rate will increase, Repertory will increase, and blood flow will be diverted to essential areas of the body to either fight or run.

The part of this process that hurts players is with the blood diversion.

80% of our blood flow is used for digestion. When more blood is needed to power other parts of the body for fighting or running it is taken from the digestion system. This is where the need to suddenly urinate or stomach queasiness comes from. Your digestion system is no long working at full capacity.

The body also prepares itself to be wounded and begins to eliminate blood loss from cuts and scratches. It begins to take blood away from the arms and legs as a protective mechanism. When a player says the ball just did not feel right or the ball just got heavy. This is why.

Keeping a players relaxed at all times will keep a player at his best.

Does your coach have 30 years of experience or the same 1 year of experience over 30 years.

Something to ask yourself. You only get 1 career.

Choose wisely.

It's a common question I hear from outfielders all the time. How do you know when to run forwards vs backwards.

It is actually quite easy. If the ball is above your brim, run back. Below, run forward.
